Tweet of the Day (2)

Over the weekend, whilst out at Adraa Agricultural College, I noticed that one of the mango trees was laden not with mangos but with hanging nests.  On closer inspection, I saw great flocks of brightly coloured yellow birds flying to and fro bringing grass to repair the beautifully woven nests and collecting flying ants and other insects to feed their young.

Having checked with my ornithologist back home (thanks again Wayne!), I now know that they are Village Weavers -

   
 
Also spotted the following equally striking bird and again, I am reliably informed that it is another male weaver bird, a Black Bishop!
